Registration for Examiners

  • This four-day online event is expertly crafted to simulate the real-world intensity of final MD/DNB exams, providing postgraduate residents with a structured environment to actively participate in online mock practical exams covering long case discussions, neurology case discussions, short case discussions, and Grand Viva.

  • Each exam session is followed by a reflection period where examiners provide feedback, offering insights that help examinees refine their preparation for the final practical exams.

  • Conducted via online zoom platform, the sessions are led by senior faculty acting as examiners, offering an immersive learning and testing experience.

They provide constructive feedback in reflection sessions and ensure that the standards of real-world practical exams are maintained throughout the process.

1 Pre-Exam

  • Log in 30 minutes before the session via Zoom.

  • Attend the pre-exam briefing for smooth coordination.

2 During the Exam

  • Engage in real-time assessment of examinees.

  • Provide detailed feedback and suggestions during reflection sessions.

3 Post-Exam:

  • Submit evaluations to the organizing team.

  • Share observations for continuous improvement of the exam process.

Exam Features and Components

Long Case/Family Case Discussions

Each examinee presents an assigned detailed case.

Sessions include:
  • 90-minute discussion covering clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and management.

  • 15-minute reflection session where examiners provide constructive feedback.

Observers receive access to case materials for learning purposes.

Short Case Discussions

Focused presentations of shorter clinical cases.

Sessions include:
  • 30-minute case discussion emphasizing diagnostic and therapeutic aspects.

  • 15-minute feedback session by the examiner.

Grand Viva

A comprehensive viva session to assess depth of knowledge and problem-solving abilities. Includes:
  • Spotters and viva questions spanning multiple disciplines and recent advances.

  • 60-minute session followed by a 15-minute reflection session for feedback.

Terms and Conditions for Examiners

1. Schedule Adherence

  • Examiners must adhere to the agreed schedule and notify PGME of any changes at least 10 days in advance.

  •  In case of withdrawal, examiners are required to arrange for a suitable replacement and inform PGME promptly

2. Evaluation Responsibilities

  • Examiners will evaluate their assigned sections only, such as case discussions, OSCE, Grand Viva, or other
    subject-specific components.

  • Feedback must be constructive and shared during the reflection sessions to help examinees improve.

3. Recordings and Intellectual Property

  • PGME retains exclusive rights to all session recordings.

  • Recordings may be used for educational or promotional purposes with appropriate attribution.

  • Examiners are prohibited from sharing, altering, or distributing session recordings or materials without prior
    consent from PGME.

4. Professional Conduct

  • Examiners must maintain professionalism and impartiality during all interactions.

  • Any form of misconduct may result in disqualification from current and future PGME programs.

5. Remuneration and Benefits

  • Examiners will receive remuneration upon successful completion of their responsibilities.

  • Examiners will receive certificate upon successful completion of their responsibilities.

  • All official communications, reminders, and updates will be sent via email or the designated WhatsApp group.

  • Examiners must ensure they join the WhatsApp group upon registration.

2. Backup Plan for Schedule Changes

  • If an examiner cannot attend a session, they must propose a replacement and communicate the change to PGME
    at least 10 days prior.

3. Session Preparation

  • Examiners are expected to familiarize themselves with the cases or scenarios assigned to them prior to the
    session.

  • Participation in a pre-session orientation is mandatory to ensure smooth workflow

4. Post-Session Reporting

  • Examiners must submit evaluations and feedback promptly to the organizing team.

  • Constructive suggestions for improving future sessions are encouraged.

5. Refund and Withdrawal

  • Examiners withdrawing from their role without proper notice may forfeit their eligibility for future PGME
    programs.
