  • Each exam session is followed by a reflection period where examiners provide feedback, offering insights that help examinees refine their preparation for the final practical exams.

  • Conducted via online zoom platform, the sessions are led by senior faculty acting as examiners, offering an immersive learning and testing experience.

National Level Online Exams for Forensic Medicine and Toxicology

Examinees

Examinees are postgraduate medical residents who actively participate in the online practical exams by presenting cases, engaging in viva discussions, and receiving feedback to improve their skills and preparedness for final practical exams. Examinees benefit from two key components of the PGME program:
  1. Contact Sessions: For preparation and practice.
  2. Final Mock Practical Exams: For real-time assessment.

Exam Features

Examiners will evaluate only their assigned sections, which may include

Forensic Case Discussions

Hypothetical forensic scenarios or documents are presented to examinees for evaluation.

Duration: 60 minutes per discussion, followed by a 15-minute reflection session.

Injury Case Discussions

Focused discussions on injury documentation and expert opinions.

Duration: 60 minutes per discussion, followed by a 15-minute feedback session.

Autopsy Report Discussions

Examinees present autopsy reports for detailed review and critique.

Duration: 60 minutes per discussion, followed by a 15-minute reflection session.

Age Estimation

Assessment of forensic cases involving age estimation using radiological and other evidence.

Duration: 45 minutes per discussion.

Pedagogy

Examinees present teaching sessions on pre-assigned topics, evaluated for clarity and depth.

Grand Viva

Comprehensive oral examinations covering forensic and medico-legal concepts.

Duration: 30 minutes, followed by a reflection session.

Process of PGME Exams

Online Platform

Exams are conducted via Zoom for seamless participation.

Contact Sessions

Contact sessions are mandatory and serve as a preparatory stage for the final practical exams.

Examinees must submit assigned cases in typed PDF format before the deadline and present them during these sessions.

Performance and attendance during contact sessions determine final selection for the exams.

Reminders are sent through email and WhatsApp group messages.

Final Mock Practical Exams:

The Final Mock Practical Exams are conducted to simulate real-time online practical exams for examinees.

Registration Process

Fill Out the Registration Form

Provide your details in the Examinee Registration Form.

Complete the Payment

For Exam Registration, pay ₹1500 using the provided payment link.payment link.

For 12-Month Subscription, first register for 6 months (₹1500), then choose the 12-month plan and pay the additional ₹500.

Payment receipt will be sent to the registered email after successful payment.

Join the Official WhatsApp Group

Once registration is complete, you will be redirected to the official WhatsApp group for updates, schedules, and important announcements.

Attend the Contact Session

Present the allotted case during the Contact Session, which serves as an assessment for all examinees.

Final Mock Practical Exam

Selected examinees, based on the Contact Session assessment report, will participate in the Final Mock Practical Exam.

Terms and Conditions for Examinees

Welcome to National-Level Online Mock Practical Exams. By registering as an examinee, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Eligibility and Participation

  • Examinees must be postgraduate medical residents (MD/DNB students) eligible for appearing in practical exams.

  •  Registration as an examinee entitles participants to two key benefits: Contact Sessions and the Final Mock Practical Exams.

2. Contact Sessions

  • Attendance in the contact sessions is mandatory.

  • Examinees must submit their assigned cases in typed PDF format by the stipulated deadline before the session.

  • Examinees who fail to submit the cases before the allotted dates will be ineligible to participate in the contact session.

  • The submitted case will be presented by the examinee during the contact session.

  • Final selection for the exams is based on performance and attendance during these sessions.

  • Examinees will receive reminders about the contact sessions via email and WhatsApp messages.

3. Final Mock Practical Exams

  • The final mock practical exams simulate real-time online practical exams.

  • Examinees must present their cases to senior faculty members (Examiners) on the scheduled date.

  • Examiners will assess the examinees and provide constructive feedback in a reflection session following the exam.

  • Marks will be awarded to examinees after the exams for evaluation of their performance.

  • Examinees will have access to recordings of the sessions until July end 2025 for review and self-assessment.

4. Recordings and Intellectual Property

  • Recordings of the sessions will remain the exclusive property of PGME.

  • PGME retains the rights to distribute, modify, or repurpose the recordings for educational or promotional purposes.

  • Examinees are prohibited from sharing, distributing, or recording any part of the sessions.

5. Refund and Withdrawal Policy

  • Examinees who withdraw from the exams at any stage will forfeit their right to participate in the final mock practical exam as examinee and observer both.

  • Examinees who fail to submit the cases before alloted dates will forfeit their right to participate in the final mock practical exam as examinee and observer.

  • No refunds will be provided for examinees who withdraw from the exam.

  • Exam recordings and other relevant exam material will not be shared with those who withdraw as examinees/fail to submit the cases.

6. Code of Conduct

  • Examinees are required to conduct themselves professionally during all sessions.

  • Any misconduct or breach of guidelines may result in immediate removal from the program without a refund.

7. Device and Access Requirements

  • Only one device per participant is permitted for accessing the exam sessions.

  • Sharing access credentials is strictly prohibited.

8. Notifications and Communication

  • All official communications, including reminders and updates, will be sent via email or the official WhatsApp group.

  • Examinees must ensure they are part of the designated WhatsApp group upon registration.

9. Disclaimer

  • PGME strives to ensure a seamless experience during sessions. However, unforeseen technical issues or emergencies may lead to rescheduling.

  • PGME is not liable for disruptions caused by internet connectivity or technical problems at the participant’s end.
